Power Units There are many benefits to be gained by selecting hydraulic solutions. When a power unit has been installed in the wind turbine, e.g. to provide power for pitch control, other functions like yaw drive or brake systems can also be operated. Upon request, it is possible to deliver the yaw and brake functions in stand alone power units. One major benefit from hydraulic systems is the short start-up time after emergency stop. The wind turbine is ready to go in production again after a few minutes when the recharging of the emergency accumulators has been completed. Oil cooler is integrated in the power unit when the wind turbine is working in high temperature environment. Furthermore hydraulic solutions are characterized by a low weight-to-power ratio. |
